Introduction to XML
Description
XML is one of the most important languages in the fields of web development, database administration, and more. XML has been in use for several years and has gained increasing adoption in many fields for the transfer and structuring of data. This course is designed to bring you up-to-speed on XML and its uses quickly. We will be covering the general use of XML with a focus on web development but we will also be discussing database administration and related fields as well.
Even though this is a 1-day class you should plan an extra day or so following the course to work through all of the exercises and get the most out of the class.

Participants will:
- Write well formed XML
- Efficiently troubleshoot and correct XML problems
- Select appropriate XML tools for themselves and their departments or organizations
- Write efficient queries of XML data
- Quickly find answers to questions using online resources
Prerequisites
You must be comfortable with your computer and have a good eye for troubleshooting and proofreading. You do not need to have previous programming experience but you should already have an understanding of what XML does and why you are learning it. Previous experience with markup languages such as HTML/xHTML would be helpful.
