Microsoft SharePoint Services 3.0
Description
Microsoft's SharePoint Services 3.0 provides the basis for your work with the SharePoint technologies. In this class you will learn how the technology works and how to get a site up and running. This is not an administrative or development course so you will not be learning the very technical side of SharePoint. This course is designed as an overview of the technology and an entry-level guide to using the tools that come with SharePoint. People interested in this course might include department managers, office managers and administrative assistants, and anyone tasked with contributing or managing the content of a SharePoint site.
Prerequisites
Prior to taking SharePoint Services 3.0 you should be comfortable with internet technologies in general and have an understanding of how you will be using SharePoint. It would be helpful, but not required that you do a general study of internet technology such as Introduction to Web Design.
Software Required
If you are taking this course it is most likely that you are using a work computer and they will take care of the software. If you wish to take this course at home to prepare for work you may consider using the 60-day trial version available from Microsoft. This is a server technology so please make a note of the hardware/software requirements at microsoft.com if you are installing this software on your own.
Next Steps
You may also want to consider: SharePoint Designer.
