Joomla for Designers and Administrators
Description
This introduction to installing and configuring Joomla is a three-day, hands-on course where the student will build their own site. Joomla is a very popular Web 2.0 content management system (CMS). Now most web hosts provide Joomla as an installable application making it accessible to anyone wanting to host a feature packed and highly supported CMS.
This course is designed for those who will be web designers, power users, or administrators of any related CMS.
Prerequisites
Prior to taking Joomla you should take a general study of internet technology such as Introduction to Web Design.

Software Required
This course is hands-on and you will be actually setting up a site to complete this course. Most students will use a hosted service through their web hosting service. Most hosts will provide Joomla as an installable application. If you have not yet installed Joomla we suggest you wait until you have begun the course to do the installation. This helps assure you get the configuration correct the first time.
Joomla is a server technology. You can run this software from your home computer but be sure you check all of the prerequisites on the Joomla web site before hand.
