Description

Crystal Reports XI (CR) is a three-day course intended to introduce users to the basics needed to create and format reports. The focus for this hands-on course will be creating and formatting reports using a model SQL database. This course is not designed for administrators or developers.

Objectives

Participants will:

  1. Confidently and effectively produce reports in Crystal Reports XI
  2. Work with and modify data sources for accurate data
  3. Develop useful reports with meaningful data
  4. Efficiently format reports for easy use

Course Length

  1. Classroom Delivery: 3 days/~24 hours
  2. Personal Pace Program: Varies significantly, expect approximately 4-6 days depending on your reading speed.

Prerequisites

Students must have a good working knowledge of how a database works. Experience with Access or a similar tool is helpful. Experience with SQL is helpful but not required. See our one-day Introduction to SQL course.

Versions Available

Many corporations are still using the previous version which is Crystal Reports XI while some are still using version 9. The most current version is CR 2008 and I recommend that students learn on 2008 unless there is a compelling reason to learn on the older software. Business Objects also produces many related products. If you require training on older products please contact us for availability.

Software Required

Students enrolling in the Personal Pace Program must have a functioning copy of CR XI to complete the exercises in this course.
