Microsoft Access 2007
Description
Access is a common relational database found in many businesses. It is used as a desktop solution for individuals and very small workgroups where security and availability are not of critical importance.
Access has made many improvements in the 2007 version so even if you have taken an Access course in the past you will probably want to take Access 2007. There are enough changes in the interface and in the features to warrant the time and expense.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Efficiently create and maintain department-level databases using Microsoft Access 2007
- Utilize best-practices in database design to assure extensibility and compatibility
- Manage data effectively to maximize their organizations reporting and data processing
- Advocate for use of secure and efficient data entry and data management
- Build model databases and help set best-practices in their organizations

How long does the class take?

Prerequisites
You must be comfortable with using your computer and with basic office applications such as Excel. You do not need database experience but you should be familiar with the use of Excel or similar spreadsheet applications.
The IC3 program is an excellent preparation for the Microsoft Office courses.
Certification
This course helps prepare you for the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist credential (exam 70-605). In addition to learning the material presented in this course you will also want to spend a good amount of time using the application to become very comfortable before taking the exam. We offer practice exams to help you assure success on the first try. SawyerTraining is an authorized Certiport testing center and uses authorized instructors.
